Analysis and Control of Coupled Slow and Fast Motions

Optimization and Applications Seminar:
Coupled slow and fast dynamics offers challenges on the modeling, analysis and computational levels. An overview of an approach based on Young measures will be offered; it touches on the three aspects, addressing dynamics described by ordinary differential equations, control and optimal control issues.

Biographical Sketch:
Zvi Artstein completed his studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and is now a Professor of Mathematics at The Weizmann Institute of Science. His research interests include dynamical systems, control and decision theory.
