Sliding-mode control of an electronic throttle valve

Prof. Martin Horn is introducing the Intitute of Smart System-Technologies, especially the Control- and Measurement Systems Group of the University of Klagenfurt, Austria. As a selected project of this group Markus Reichhartinger presents the control of an electronic throttle valve. The control laws are based on the ideas of sliding-mode. For the application of the discussed control concepts a sliding-mode observer to estimate an unmeasurable state variable is designed and implemented. Results of experiments gained from different sliding-mode algorithms are discussed and compared.
