Design of a Framework for Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation and its Application to a Model Helicopter

Abstract:

The implementation concepts of a framework system for the testing of embedded systems for control applications are presented in this paper. The testing is done by implementing a hardware-in-the-loop simulation of the process. Simulating the real input and output behaviors of the process, the system can be tested under real working conditions. The second part of the paper shows the use of the framework for a real problem, the implementation of a hardware-in-the-loop simulator for a model helicopter system.
