Abstract:

The feasibility of closed- loop control (CLC) for drug administration in anesthesia is well documented for a variety of drugs. For research purposes and mandatory future acceptance by clinicians and official bodies, a consistent and generally accepted method to assess controller performance is needed. A number of methods have been proposed and used, however they have disadvantages and/or are incomplete for CLC performance evaluation.
