Low Complexity Control of Piecewise Affine Systems with Stability Guarantee

Abstract:

Piece-wise affine systems are powerful tools for modelling both non-linear and hybrid systems. One of the key problems in controlling these systems is the inherent computational complexity, especially if constraints on state and input are present. Furthermore, there is a lack of efficient methods to obtain stabilizing feedback controllers for these systems. This paper will illustrate how reachability analysis based on multiparametric programming may serve to obtain controllers of significantly lower complexity than any other approach published to date. Furthermore, the controller provides guarantees on closed-loop constraint satisfaction and stability.
