Abstract:

We researched a novel method to have a real-time prediction of BIS basing on the dosing history of propofol. PKPD models for propofol-BIS are available in literature but, because of the large patient intervariability (different sensitivity to the drug), a population PKPD model could fail in predicting the real BIS values. Therefore, to reduce the estimation-measurement error, and to improve the prediction performance of the model, an algorithm to individualize parameters has been developed.
