pp. 152, ASSERT project deliverable
Abstract:

This document is deliverable D4.2.4-1 of the ASSERT project. The document has been prepared jointly by the members of ASSERT Work Package 4.2. One of the goals of this work package is the definition of methods, tools and components for the development and use of reusable and adaptable software building blocks within the overall ASSERT process. Software frameworks are the key technology that will be used for this purpose. A software framework defines a set of reusable and adaptable building blocks embedded within an architecture optimized for applications in a certain target domain. This document introduces the software framework, it relates the framework activities of WP 4.2 to the goals of the ASSERT project at large, and it defines the process that is proposed to develop and use software frameworks.
