Hysdel Modeling and Simulation of Hybrid Dynamical Systems

Abstract:

This paper presents the modeling and simulation framework for hybrid dynamical systems, where the system is modeled as discrete hybrid automaton (DHA) using high level modeling language HYSDEL (HYbrid System DEscription Language). Such a model can be later translated into Mixed Integer Dynamical (MLD) modeling framework. This paper discusses and compares three different approaches to simulate MLD system. First is the use of the mixed integer linear programs (MILP), this approach has certain disadvantages, i.e. time consumption, therefore two special simulation algorithms were developed, which overcome these problems. The comparison of the approaches is presented through simulation of a multi product batch plant.
