Robust Active Control of a Vibrating Plate

Abstract:

This paper addresses several aspects of designing robust controllers for active control of a vibrating plate using piezoelectric actuators and acceleration sensors. The discussion includes identification of the plant; design and implementation of controllers; and evaluation of their robustness and performance. All the concepts are tested on an experimental set-up where several H_inf controllers are implemented and compared. It is shown that the disturbance model and a proper uncertainty description are key factors for good performance.
