Algebraic geometry techniques in optimization and control

I.A. Fotiou

Geometry Graduate Seminar, University of Stuttgart

In this talk, after describing some motivating examples of feedback control, we present two methods for nonlinear parametric optimization using algebraic geometry techniques. The link with constrained optimal control is then made by a power electronics case study on the boost DC-DC converter. Finally, we conclude giving some future research directions.
