Real-time Control of 1;43 Scale race cars

The following project has been developed in the context of a semester thesis at the Automatic Control Laboratory (IfA) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). It covers the design and implementation of an autonomous real-time RC car racing system. The fact that we are very interested in control systems and our intention to do something practical, motivated us to start this project. We appreciated the chance to build a complete system from the beginning without any prescribed dos and don'ts. This allowed us to get an insight into a wide area of interests with the drawback that we could not study everything we would have liked to in detail. Last but not least we would like to thank all the members of the Automatic Control Laboratory who supported us during our work and especially Dr. Colin Jones for his great dedication.
