Abstract:

This paper proposes to employ a multisource DC-DC converters to interconnect storage devices, energy sources and motion control unit of an electric vehicle. This converter topology is well suited to interconnect more than 2 source/loads that need galvanic isolation or where the voltage levels are different and where powers can flow in any direction. They employ a single core with multiple windings. The maximum transmissible powers, energy efficiency and controllability of the system depend on the multiwinding transformer leakage inductances. The paper presents a solution to adjust the leakage inductance to obtain a given characteristic. The approach works with uneven transformation ratios and is validated experimentally.
