Assessment of Feedback Linearization for an Induction Motor

Abstract:

The aim of this master thesis is the application of feedback linearization to an induction motor. Previous work from literature are analyzed and simulated, showing some shortcomings. Two alternative approaches are proposed and investigated based on the well known nonlinear system model. One approach controls the speed and the other controls the torque what is preferred due to its faster dynamics. Their applicability is studied and proven by simulation. Improvements of the proposed control schemes are suggested. A state of the art controller is implemented for comparison on a real experimental set up. Therefore, the given experimental setup is completed and its design presented.
