Automatic parameter identification for induction drives

The datasheet of an induction motor usually only provides very basic information on the drive. For accurate simulation and for some innovative control techniques a more detailed knowledge of the electrical parameters is needed. In this semester thesis a set of procedures to automatically measure such parameters was determined. The procedures were simulated using MATLAB and then ported to c. The c-implementation was used to test the methods on hardware. All the methods rely only on the converter drive and its sensors for measurement. To use the procedures, some nameplate values have to be provided in the beginning. Also the drive must be allowed to turn freely. Apart from that no user action is required.
