Abstract:

This thesis is part of the Autonomous Solar Vehicle project of the Automatic Control Laboratory (IfA) at ETH Zürich. The goal was to investigate high frequency injection techniques for rotor position estimation at low to zero speed. A survey of different techniques has been conducted. The applicability of one technique on the given permanent magnet synchronous motor has been tested. A better approximation of the motor parameters has been found.
