Software Framework for Position Control of 1:43 Scale Race Cars

This report describes the research and development of a software framework that is able to run autonomous 1:43 racing cars in real-time. The hardware needed to run the cars is first described. Then, a short derivation of a mathematical model needed for the simulations is reported, followed by some position control strategies. The results of the simulations and the testing of the real-time system are finally presented. This work should lay a basis for the development and optimization of further control algorithms for small scale racing cars.
