Automatic parameter identification of induction machines

Multiphase induction machines, especially those with squirrel-cage rotor, are the simplest and least expensive motors devised. Since their invention by Galileo Ferraris in Italy and Nicola Tesla in the United States in 1888 they are very popular in idustry applications. In 2008 induction machines contribute to 83.2% of the motor market in Germany. For many control applications it is necessary to have an appropriate motor model, as illustrated in. With a suitable model the controller adjusts the inputs in such a way, that the anticipated outputs occure.
