Abstract:

This report \RCopterX - Realisation of Multi-Agent Support" describes some challenges and corresponding solutions that arise when radio controlled (RC) helicopters are controlled using a camera vision system and computer based control. The idea of the RcopterX project is to control commercially available RC helicopters with computer based control. The tracking of the helicopters is done with the Vicon Bonita tracking system. In a previous project it was shown that connecting the radio control unit of the helicopters to a computer and stable control of the system are possible [1]. The goals of this project were to control multiple helicopters at a time and to develop a software that allows the user to run di erent controllers and compare their performance. Furthermore, the quality as well as the durability of the hardware should be improved. The stated goals were achieved.
