Active Variable Geometry Suspension Control for Motorcycles

Lightly damped modes pose a danger to high performance motorcycles. A variable geometry rear suspension system has been proposed to increase damping of certain modes. In this project a H MIMO controller is developed further to increase performance. Simulations on a high fidelity nonlinear motorcycle model show that oscillations can indeed be damped further. Additionally, linear evaluations show that the controller, even though designed around a certain linearisation, is suitable for use over the whole range operation conditions.
