Assessment on Direct Torque Control (DTC)

In this semester project the simulation models of Direct Torque Control (DTC) and Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) are build in MATLAB code. For the DTC case the model was tested through di erent simulation groups for various combinations of torque loads, stator ux and torque hysteresis windows always in respect to the resulting switching frequencies of the inverter. In the documen- tation, the theoretical analysis of DTC and a more physical approach are presented as well as the results of all the simulations. Additionally, investigation was made to the direction of shifting the stator space voltage vectors by an o set angle and observe the total harmonic dis- tortion at the resulting currents waveforms. A table with the results is being presented. The analysis of the SVPWM is brie y presented, the two control schemes are compared theoretically and a simulation comparison is being conducted at the steady state. All the important programming points are described and code is attached wherever is believed to be necessary. The steps for calculating all the quantities of this project are explained in detail at the Appendix at the very end of this document.
