Abstract:

As we faced the challenge to build a supporting role for the Striker, we recognized that creating this role would not be possible without significantly changing the State model of the Striker. The striker senses whether it is better to shoot at the goal or to pass to the supporter according to the ball’s position. The two lines are divided this early, because later performed evaluations of the question ”Pass or shoot?” by checking different variables via theTeamMateData have proven to be quite unreliable. Therefore we concluded that it is best to make an early decision and stand with it, instead of reverting a decision after it has been made, since this minimizes time losses and stabilizes the robot’s behavior.
