Multisource DC-DC Converter Testbench

Abstract:

Multisource DC-DC converters are suitable to interconnect differnt DC voltage sources with very different voltage levels, using a very compact medium frequency transformer with a single core. The operation of multisource DC-DC converters is challenging due to the strong coupling between the different sources, and because there are infinitely many ways of achieving a desired transfer. Research work at IfA focused on how to improve operation of such systems through control using optimization methods. In this context, the objective of the project is to realize a multisource DC-DC converter and investigate its performance experimentally.
