Analysis of Multi Parametric Quadratic Programming Algorithms at the Automatic Control Lab

Abstract:

The goal of this project was to do some run time simulations with a multi parametric programming algorithm (emph{ifa_mpqp}) on different systems and with different horizons to analyze the efficiency of the algorithm. During the work, it was realized that the algorithm was computing flawed results for large systems (e.g., Ball & Plate). Due to this problem an investigation on what could be wrong with the algorithm was started. During the work different failures were found. This report points out the different problems that were found during the work with the algorithm and suggestions as to why they appeared. Furthermore, solutions and workarounds to the problems are suggested.
