Abstract:

In this paper we study the effect of impulsive attacks, also known as initial condition attacks, on networked systems and propose a new security index to be able to analyze the impact of such attacks. In addition, we pose, and subsequently solve, optimization problems for selecting inputs or outputs that point to attacks with maximum impact and least detectability.
