Serial to ethernet converter

Many devices like cameras and robots communicate with compuuters via a serial connec- tion. In order to efficiently access this devices, internet transmissions can be converted into serial communication. In this work, such a serial to ethernet converter is written in C++. Four threads are created that each handle one serial or UDP port. Additionally, Matlab-functions are written to easily control the devices. This setup is then tested on a tracking problem, in order to evaluate its robustness and speed. Control frequencies of up to 2 Hz are achieved with only few errors.
