Steady-States of Empirical Models

Abstract:

This paper considers the steady-state characterization of empirical models, to aid in the selection of ``reasonable'' model structures. Three empirical distillation column models proposed by different authors are considered, and detailed analyses of their steady-state behavior are presented. These examples illustrate some useful relationships between model structure, parameters, and steady-state behavior.
