Integration of new control hardware for flexible shaft experiment

Introduction

The Fachpraktikum experiment "Flexible Shaft II -LQR" provides students a hands-on introduction to optimal control, LQR controllers in specific. This setup should now be updated using the control hardware from B&R automation. The experiment hardware will stay the same and only the control part will change. Currently the flexible shaft is controlled via XPc and this should be replaced by control hardware from B&R automation.

Objectives

  • Setup new control hardware based on already updated experiments
  • Program new MATLAB scripts interfacing the system
  • Implement control strategies as done in the old experiment
  • Generate a GUI interface for the control hardware
  • Writing the documentation
  • Testing system and generate sample solution (Musterlösung)
