Stability of randomly switched systems: a slow switching perspective

We discuss sufficient conditions for global asymptotic stability of randomly switched systems under slow-switching hypotheses on the switching signal. As special cases we consider switching signals coming from continuous-time Markov chains. For randomly switched systems with disturbance inputs, we propose a stochastic variant of input-to-state stability (ISS), and establish sufficient conditions for ISS under slow-switching.

Biographical Sketch:
Debasish Chatterjee completed his undergraduate studies at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 2002. Since then he has been pursuing a PhD with Professor Daniel Liberzon at the Coordinated Science Laboratory, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; he expects to finish his doctoral studies by Summer 2007. The main theme of his research is analysis and control synthesis of randomly switched systems.
