Biographical Sketch:
Since 2009 Wolfgang Hribernik is Head of Business Unit Electric Energy Systems as well as Deputy Head of Center for Energy within the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology. Beside his role as director of the largest Smart Grid related research group in Austria Dr. Hribernik took over different responsibilities in both national and international coordination and network activities such as OVE and CIGRE. In the framework of the European Commission Dr. Hribernik coordinated a member state initiative related to mapping and gap analysis of smart grid demonstration projects in Europe. Wolfgang Hribernik received a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from Vienna University of Technology and a PhD degree from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. He has been active in academic teaching and is currently lector at University of Technology Graz.
