Beschreibung:

Recent progresses in permanent magnet synchronous motors technology and power conversion techniques render them attractive as a effective solution to replace fixed speed wind turbine generator and double stator-rotor winding induction generators.

This also enable new possibilities in terms of the dynamics of the system. The objective of the project is to determine the characteristics of the different element that composes the system and the identify the required dynamic performance of the drive and generator system. The system under investigation comprises the incoming wind, a wind turbine, a permanent magnet generator and a front end converter injecting the power in the utility grid.

The tasks are:
  • Model and simulate the system,
  • Depending on candidate(s) qualitification and interest, a possible extension of the project is the realization of a reduced scale experimental rig.
The project mainly consists of:
  • Theory 50%
  • Simulation 50%
  • (DSP programming and lab work if the optional task is taken)
