Control Challenge HS 2011

Welcome to the Control Challenge, the competition associated with the course Regelsysteme I. The Control Challenge is designed to test your understanding of a typical controller design cycle and your ability to apply methods from the course.

For each challenge, solutions should be uploaded to the server of the Automatic Control Lab before the individual deadlines. All entries will be automatically reviewed and evaluated, and subsequently ranked (using a points system) according to the quality of the solution.

Participation is voluntary, but will greatly help your understanding of the course material. Not only that, but participants see the range of real-life problems which can be tackled with control theory.

This year's competition theme is modeling and control of a geostationary satellite. The prizes are as follows:

First prize: CHF 175 Digitec voucher
Extra prizes: CHF 50 Digitec vouchers for up to 5 other exceptional entrants.

Group participation is permitted, but you must nominate one member of the group as a representative, and use the same student number to submit all exercises. In the event a group wins a prize, it is the responsibility of the group members to share the prize between themselves.
