M.Sc. Tutoring

If you are interested in having one of the IfA professors serving as the tutor for your Master's studies, please:

  • Contact the professor by email before submitting a tutor request in myStudies.
  • State the Master program you are attending in the opening sentence of your email and provide a link to its regulations.
  • Provide a tentative time line for your studies, including internships, projects and any plans for exchange semesters.
  • Provide a draft of your proposed learning agreement generated in myStudies. Please make sure the credit points add up to just over the requirements, in each category and overall. The draft will be used as a basis for the discussion; if you are considering alternatives for some of the classes listed in the draft please state these in your email.
  • Provide a copy of your CV and the transcripts of your undergraduate studies, so that we know more about your background and any course overlaps.
  • If you are planning an exchange semester in another university please provide also the courses you plan to take there, their credit points, copies/links to their entries in the university catalogue, and an indication of the ETH Zurich courses they are most closely related to.

Based on this information we will arrange a personal meeting to finalise your learning agreement.

If at a later stage the Learning Agreement needs to be changed, please communicate this request to your tutor by email, before entering it into the system. Please provide a clear indication of which courses you would like to replace by which others and why. Please keep in mind that switching courses a-posteriori to improve your grade point average is not allowed.
