by Sabrina Baumann

Ali Tayyebi, doctoral student at the Austrian Institute of Technology and Automatic Control Laboratory, was awarded with the IEEE PES Best Paper Award for the conference paper "Beyond Low-inertia Systems: Massive Integration of Grid-forming Power Converters in Transmission Grids" by Ali Tayyebi, Catalin Gavrila, Adolfo Anta, and Friederich Kupzog, all with the Austrian Institute of Technology; Alessandro Crivellaro with the University of Padova, Italy; and Dominic Groß and Florian Dörfler with ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

Over 1200 Conference Papers were submitted for this General Meeting. IEEE PES Technical Committees conducted peer reviews and selected 66 Conference Papers as the best ones submitted to their respective committees. During the four Monday afternoon presentations of these papers, judges selected one paper from each session as the "Best-of-the-Best".

Our congratulations to this award.
