Research area
Francesco Micheli's research is mostly focused on data-driven identification and control of uncertain dynamical systems. Interesting domains of application include energy management in buildings and robotics.
Francesco Micheli joined the Automatic Control Laboratory at ETH Zurich as Ph.D. student in 2019, under the supervision of Prof. J. Lygeros. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2017 and 2018, respectively. His studies focused on mechatronics and robotics, with particular emphasis in the areas of control theory, motion planning and vehicle dynamics. During his Master thesis he developed a NMPC based trajectory planner for autonomous vehicles. In 2019 he worked on the TEINVEIN project as a research assistant at the department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano.
